Why shorts with built-in base layer shorts?

When doing gym activities, kids often have their legs extended, such as for lunges or stretches, or find themselves in upside-down positions when balancing or planking, which can cause shorts to ride up and show their underwear.

The built-in base layer shorts keep kids totally covered so they can focus on the activity at hand.
